Practicum Clinical Mental Health Counselor
Lauren Feenstra is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University, where she is gaining valuable hands-on experience as part of her practicum placement. Under the supervision of experienced professionals, she is working directly with clients, offering counseling and therapeutic services to individuals with a range of mental health concerns. Lauren received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Grand Canyon University.
Lauren is dedicated to creating a safe, empathetic space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Her therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Lauren is passionate about helping individuals navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions while empowering them to make positive changes in their lives.
In addition to her practical experience, she brings a strong foundation in ethical practice, confidentiality, and client-centered care, and is committed to continuing professional development throughout her career.
Lauren believes in a holistic approach to mental health, recognizing the complex interplay between emotional, psychological, and environmental factors. She is excited to continue growing as a counselor and to contribute to the community by supporting individuals on their journey toward healing and self-discovery.
Lauren is an active volunteer in the community, serving as a WyldLife leader in the Park City Young Life organization. She is an avid outdoor/fitness enthusiast, who enjoys mountain biking, skiing, hiking, backpacking, and yoga. Lauren hopes to incorporate the concept of movement, and the power of being outdoors and in nature into her practice.
