Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor
Kirstyn holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Trinity International University. She also holds an MA in Theological Studies from Trinity and a BA in Psychology from Northwestern University. Kirstyn is licensed as an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC) in the state of Utah.
Kirstyn has a passion for coming alongside others as they journey toward growth and flourishing. She takes an integrative, evidence-based approach to therapy and enjoys working with adults, teens, kids, and couples. Kirstyn has clinical experience in both community mental health and private practice settings, and she seeks to provide holistic care for concerns like anxiety and depression, life transitions, grief and loss, spiritual concerns, and identity issues. She is a Prepare/Enrich Certified Facilitator and has been trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Kirstyn’s work is grounded in the belief that change is possible and that it is better to face the complexities and challenges of life together. She seeks to provide a safe place for her clients to be heard, seen, and known, and to work together to foster greater healing and wholeness.
ART is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals reconsolidate traumatic memories so that they no longer elicit strong emotional or physical responses. This allows thoughts to change naturally and enables individuals to experience post-traumatic growth. ART therapy can be helpful for depression, anxiety, trauma, and any distressing feelings or scenes and it has been shown to achieve rapid benefits (usually within 1-5 sessions). More information about ART can be found here.
