Native American Outreach
Our Relationship with the Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation
Since 2013, we have been developing a relationship with the Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation. This relationship is built on trust and is a true partnership. We seek to understand the tribe’s needs and goals and offer support where needed by delivering resources, making community connections, and leveraging our existing programs.
Indigenous Outreach Program
Our Indigenous Outreach Program focuses on three main areas: food assistance, youth programs, and environmental preservation. With close partnership from tribal leadership, we support these areas through the following initiatives throughout the year.
Healthy Food Assistance
CCPC's monthly mobile food pantry visits bring fresh produce, healthy proteins, seasonal foods, and more to the community. From building family garden beds and creating a community garden that produces nutritious, fresh, sustainable food, to providing educational classes on gardening in the high desert, cooking, and composting, it has been a wonderful partnership.
Youth Programs
An annual ski trip to Park City, participation in Back 2 School Basics, and participation in Operation Hope provide support to tribal youth with a focus on fun, health, and education. Weekend family activities, including camping trips, Hike for Hunger in Park City, and more, are all a part of our Indigenous youth outreach.
Environmental Protection & Preservation
Working closely with EPA Water Management officials in the Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation, together we've preserved natural spring water sources and removed potential water source contaminants.
This program is funded in part by American Express and Ally Bank.
Additionally, American Express grant funds help support the JAS Foundation/West Wendover Senior Center in Wendover Nevada. This partnership provides outreach, food assistance, and more to residents of Wendover, UT.
