Fighting Hunger During the Holidays

Holiday meals are a part of many families’ traditions, and we believe it is important to provide pantry guests and program participants with extra food during this time of year so those special traditions and celebratory gatherings can continue no matter what. 

Thanksgiving Turkeys and Meals

Thanks to the generosity of the Park City Board of Realtors Philanthropic Foundation, we are able to give away roughly 1,000 turkeys through our food pantries. Generous donors and volunteers also provide ready-to-cook sides so that local families can have a full Thanksgiving meal. 

Thanksgiving turkeys and holiday meals are also delivered to the Goshute reservation in Ibapah, UT as part of our monthly visit.

Christmas Meals 

What started as a senior athlete project at Park City High School has grown into a huge Christmas meal delivery effort. James Agnew and his family and the “Especially for Athletes” high school students and their families assemble and deliver roughly 600 meals to families in Summit and Wasatch Counties. These families opt-in to receive meals and are offered the meals through our Operation Hope program.

Operation Hope Grocery Bags

Thanks to the Wasatch Community Foundation, families who are participating in Operation Hope receive grocery bags filled to the brim with ready-to-cook foods that are a huge blessing to all who receive them.

In Summit County, our community partner EATS provides Operation Hope families with a bag of ready-to-cook items and a coordinating recipe to complete the package!

Donate

Ready-to-cook sides, pantry staples, and baking items are all in demand during the holidays. Needs include dried beans, rice, spices, baking mixes, cornmeal, dried chilies, boxed stuffing, potatoes, and onions. 

Food Drives

Host a food drive in your place of business, faith community, or neighborhood! Email JiameC@ccofpc.org to learn more. If you see a food drive table at a local grocery store, make a donation! Every year the Park City High School National Honor Society hosts the LARGEST food drive of the year for our pantry. Help them reach their 2022 goal of donating 50,000 lbs. of food!
