Licensed Mental Health Counselor, NCC
Emily earned a BS in Mass Communications/Journalism from Evangel University and an MA in Counseling from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2013, obtaining licenses in South Carolina, Texas, and Alaska, and currently holds professional licenses in California and Utah.
Emily is a retired military spouse of 24 years and has worked in a variety of settings, including various non-profits, private practice, a Military Family Life Center, a child development center, and five elementary schools, conducting individual and group sessions. She co-developed and led sessions in trauma play therapy at the Colorado Play Therapy Conference and developed and led several seminars in children’s Filial therapy. She also founded a church counseling center in South Carolina. She excels in working with women, children, and families through an integrated therapeutic approach utilizing Solution Focused Therapy, CBT, play therapy, art therapy, and family systems therapy. Her goal is to help people in all situations thrive!
Emily is a National Certified Counselor, member of the American Counseling Association, member of the Utah Play Therapy Association, and member of the Utah Mental Health Counseling Association. She is also an EMDR trainer, child and adolescent trauma professional, and neurofeedback technician (Othmer method).
