Addressing Hunger & Food Insecurity, One Household at a Time
Many people in our community face a hidden struggle to secure enough nutritious food for themselves and their families. According to FeedingAmerica.org, 1 in 8 Utahns, including 1 in 6 children, are food insecure. Our Food Insecurity Programs address this issue through our food pantries, mobile food pantries, and seasonal programs.
Our goal is to alleviate the burden food insecurity and economic hardships have on vulnerable community members.
“Food insecurity is part of a larger cycle, where families are often forced to make difficult choices between basic needs, such as paying rent, keeping the lights on, or buying groceries. These impossible choices have a profound impact on physical health, mental well-being, and overall quality of life.”

In early 2025, the pantry team delivered 400 bags of food to homes in Summit and Wasatch counties, making sure families had groceries when they didn’t feel safe to go out.
An Inspiring Story from the Heber Valley Food Pantry: On Our Feet & Giving Back
When the Heber Pantry needed a facelift, residents from the Wasatch Crest Recovery Program offered to help. They were more than happy to step in and paint floors, move pantry and store fixtures, and work up a sweat.
“When we moved into residential housing after the inpatient program, we had nothing but the clothes on our backs. The thrift store staff provided us with kitchen items and we were able to get groceries from the pantry. It was such a huge help and we can’t thank them enough.”
