Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC)
Carina Nation is an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC) with a background in trauma-informed care, addiction recovery, and holistic wellness. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness from Purdue University and her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward? Maybe you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, or a major life transition and wondering how to reconnect with yourself again. Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, but you don’t have to do it alone.
Carina works with individuals who seek deeper healing, clarity, and emotional balance. She takes a compassionate, client-centered approach, creating a safe space where you can explore your experiences without judgment. Her work is rooted in trauma-informed care and incorporates Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic awareness, and mind-body connection to help clients better understand themselves and find lasting relief.
Carina is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which allows clients to process and resolve distressing experiences in a gentle and effective way. She also integrates her background in wellness, including her 500-hour Clinical Yoga Teacher Training, to support nervous system regulation and whole-person healing.
ART is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals reconsolidate traumatic memories, so they no longer elicit strong emotional or physical responses. This allows thoughts to change naturally and enables individuals to experience post-traumatic growth. ART therapy can be helpful for depression, anxiety, trauma, and any distressing feelings or scenes. ART is a new therapy to Utah, but not to the greater United States, and is shown to achieve benefits much more rapidly than traditional talk therapy (usually within 1-5 sessions). More information about ART can be found here.
With experience working in residential treatment settings and alongside military members and first responders, Carina understands the complexities of trauma, stress, and high-performance environments. She is passionate about helping clients build resilience, reconnect with their inner strengths, and move forward with confidence.
She takes a holistic, client-centered approach, meeting individuals where they are and supporting their unique healing journey. Carina is happy to incorporate faith into the therapeutic process when it is meaningful to the client.
Taking the first step toward healing can feel difficult, but it can also be the beginning of meaningful change. Carina is here to support you in that process.
