While working with this population, she learned the importance of establishing a foundational emotional awareness from childhood. Carina has many ties to the LGBTQAI+ population in Utah and is passionate about holding a safe place for those individuals to learn and grow. Carina is fluent in Cued Speech and can communicate with the Deaf population, she wears a Cochlear Implant and has a passion for bridging the gap between the Deaf and hearing population when it comes to therapy.
Carina is completing her training through the Clinical Yoga Institute, which encourages mindfulness practices in therapy sessions by bringing Yogic breathing techniques that clients can use to self-regulate outside of their sessions. Carina has training on Ketamine-Assisted Therapy and hopes to expand her research on ways to assist individuals with PTSD and trauma. Carina has specialized training in A.R.T.
