Omowoleola Bakare, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care across the lifespan. She has experience working with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations in outpatient psychiatry, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), day treatment, and hospital settings.
Prior to specializing in psychiatry, Omowoleola worked for over eight years as a registered nurse across a variety of medical and psychiatric settings, including adult-geriatric psychiatry, intensive care, medical-surgical, telemetry, orthopedic, and bariatric post-surgical units, and travel nursing assignments across multiple states. She has experience providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, treatment planning, and risk assessments for individuals experiencing a wide range of psychiatric disorders and mental health concerns.
Omowoleola values culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and nonjudgmental care that meets patients where they are. Her clinical interests include holistic mental health treatment integrating psychotherapy, medication management, nutrition, physical activity, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is also interested in innovative and emerging psychiatric treatments, including ketamine-assisted therapies, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and psychedelic-assisted therapies currently being studied in clinical research.
Outside of work, Omowoleola enjoys spending time with friends, reading, life drawing, taking walks, trying new activities, and occasionally volunteering at local dog shelters.
