SUMMARY:Online Introduction to the Enneagram Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Do you identify with the saying “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”? If so\, take heart! The Enneagram is a personality system that explains how we get in our own way despite our best intentions. It describes the particular ruts we get into in our thinking\, feeling and behaving and offers a path to change. \nBased on 9 personality “Types”\, the Enneagram describes 9 different\, and equally valid\, ways of engaging with ourselves and others. It’s a transformational tool for awareness and growth which will increase your understanding and empathy for yourself and others. It can help you change counterproductive patterns of behavior\, deepen your relationship with significant others and improve your ability to understand and get along with your co-workers. \nJoin the Counseling and Wellness Center at CCPC for an illuminating evening with Mary Wright\, M.A.\, our Certified Enneagram Coach\, to discover this strikingly accurate and useful tool for improving interpersonal dynamics. \nMary Wright\, M.A. is a Certified Enneagram teacher and coach with a Master’s degree in Counseling. Mary completed her training at the Narrative Enneagram School in both the Enneagram Teacher and Enneagram Practitioner programs\, studying directly under pioneer\, Helen Palmer. She holds her Advanced Enneagram Coach Certification from the Enneagram in Business and is YEC Certified. In addition\, she has studied extensively at the Enneagram Institute under Russ Hudson\, the Enneagram Prison Project with Susan Olesek\, and the Enneagram Center for Transformation and Well Being with Michael Naylor. Mary’s work at CCPC focuses on helping clients identify and work with their Enneagram type. Working with the Enneagram helps clients to identify ways in which their point of view becomes rigid or stuck in automatic habits. \nThis seminar will be held online. \nPlease use this link to sign up for the seminar in advance.

SUMMARY:Prolonged Grief and Its Treatment
DESCRIPTION:Grief is the natural response to loss. Although it’s complex\, time-varying and multifaceted and everyone grieves in their own way\, there are commonalities. Moreover\, most people adapt to the loss of a loved one by accepting their new reality and restoring wellbeing. However\, some bereaved people are caught up in issues that derail the process of adapting to the loss. The result is prolonged grief disorder (formerly known as complicated grief) – a condition in which grief remains pervasive and intense for many years and even decades after the loss. \nDr. Shear\nProlonged Grief Disorder Therapy (previously called complicated grief therapy: CGT) is a short-term therapy that uses methods from a range of evidence-based psychotherapies to establish a solid working alliance\, address derailers and facilitate adaptation to loss. This free 90-minute webinar\, taught by Dr. Katherine Shear\, will introduce you to seven “Healing Milestones” that can help you facilitate adaptation to loss and elicit and address “stuck points” with clients. The webinar will also discuss the unique challenges posed to adaptation to loss during COVID-19. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nList the HEALING milestones that can encourage adaptation to loss\nDescribe prolonged grief disorder\nDescribe the unique challenges posed by a loss during COVID-19\n\n  \nThis introductory training is specifically for people who interact with grieving clients/patients and is a preview to a Professional Development Workshop on Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy (PGDT) later in 2021 (details TBA). \nLMFT\, LCMHC\, LCSW\, Psychologists\, Counseling students\, school counselors\, clergy and health providers are encouraged to attend. \n  \nPlease register for the complimentary webinar in advance here.

SUMMARY:Understanding Overindulgence Through the Lens of the Enneagram
DESCRIPTION:Do you or someone you know overindulge as a way to cope or escape the here and now?\nJoin Mary Wright\, Certified Enneagram Coach\, for a fascinating evening of learning how a powerful\, personality typing tool\, called “The Enneagram”\, can help us understand overindulgence as a way to cope with or escape the here and now. \nThrough this program\, attendees will explore the 9 different personality styles or types of thinking\, feeling and acting. Each type has very specific traits and patterns that impact how we relate to ourselves\, others and the world we encounter. You do not need to be struggling with a substance use disorder to benefit from this training. Attendees of this event will explore the concept of how overindulgence can be a way to cope\, escape or numb out and how this behavior can cause them to move away from who they truly are at their core\, bringing them away from their “essence.” This training may result in radical self-discoveries for those searching for understanding\, personal strategies\, and happiness as they learn how to be more present in the here and now. For those supporting someone with overindulging or addictive behaviors\, this training will bring greater insight and increase their empathy. \nLearning about the 9 Types will offer you new insights about yourself and others\, which will greatly enhance your relationships and your ability to cope in more healthy and holistic ways. \nHere is a testimony from an attendee of her last Enneagram training: \n“Mary Wright brings a profound and unique set of psychoanalytic skills and addiction experience to her expert understanding of the enneagram….. As a result\, Mary’s involvement in my recovery coaching program is now a cornerstone because of the transformative process of her enneagram work. I highly recommend Mary’s extraordinary skill set for anyone looking to find deep meaning and ultimately find new strategies in their lives.” Jill Rathburn\, RN – Humble Warrior Women – Certified Professional Coach\, Wellness & Recovery – Certified Bioenergetic (NES) Health Practitioner \nWe hope you will join us and consider sharing and inviting others to this important\, training opportunity. \nWe don’t want the cost to be prohibitive for this training. Scholarships are available. Please feel free to email heather@ccofpc.org to arrange a scholarship for this event. \n  \nRegister today! \n  \n  \n
